In Destiny 2, you can get the Wicked Implement by fishing and completing a hard timed task hidden in Season of the Deep’s Deep Dive activity.

With Season of the Deep, Destiny 2 players now have access to a new Exotic weapon. Wicked Implement, the newest Exotic weapon, is a Scout Rifle with pretty strong power thanks to Xivu Arath. But if players want to get their hands on the new Destiny 2 Exotic, they will have to go on a long quest and then do a hard task with a limited amount of time. Players who want the Wicked Implement Quest should put on their gear and get ready to… fish.

Exotic Quests are common in Destiny 2, but this one is one of the hardest. Players will need to move quickly to get this Exotic Scout Rifle before August, when Season of the Deep ends. In Season 21, players will go to the Methane Sea of Titan, which is full of risks. Here’s how to get the Wicked Implement in Destiny 2.

Step 1: Fishing In The Throne World

Step 1: Fishing In The Throne World

Players will need to go to Savathun’s Throne World for the first step of the quest. The Miasma Fish Pond has a secret goal that requires players to put down their weapons against the Scorn and Lucent Hive and go fishing until they get lucky and catch the Whispering Mothcarp fish.

The Whispering Mothcarp is one of the Exotic fish in Destiny 2, and players will need to catch this great bounty to move forward in this secret Destiny 2 Exotic task. Some players might wait a while, since the chance to catch an exotic fish is completely random, but it’s very important that they don’t give up and keep trying to use Bait and luck to catch a Whispering Mothcarp in Savathun’s Throne World.

In Destiny 2, the only real way to catch fish is to be patient. But players can have a small effect on the RNG of the Fish Pond by not taking the fish they catch right away. Players should let their stacks of Legendary and Exotic fish grow until the next Fish Pond appears. This way, when they pick up all of their fish from the last Fish Pond, the Focused Fishing will be stronger. Focused Fishing makes it more likely to catch Legendary and Exotic fish for every bar that is full.

Step 2: Fishing In Nessus

Step 2: Fishing In Nessus

For this one, players will want to fly their ships to Nessus and avoid Failsafe. When players get to Nessus, they should Sparrow race to The Cistern, which is near the Pools of Luminance. Once players find the Fish Pond, they should stop trying to kill Vex and instead go fishing in the radiolarian pools, also called “Vex Milk.”

Players are looking for a fish called “Vex Placoderm,” which is a rare fish. This fish filled with Vex is important for the next step, where players will need to go back to the H.E.L.M. As usual, fishing is based on luck, so players need to be patient and bring a lot of Bait if they want to catch one of these Exotic fish and move on with the quest.

Step 3: Fishing In The EDZ

Step 3: Fishing In The EDZ

The Aeonian Alpha-Betta is the third and last Exotic fish players need to start the new Exotic task for the Wicked Implement Exotic weapon in Destiny 2. Players want to go to the Outskirts in the EDZ to get to the Fish Pond, and they should keep their fishing rod steady to catch the Aeonian Alpha-Betta.

At this point, players just have to keep a lot of food on hand and be patient if they want to catch this Exotic fish. But once players catch this third and last fish, they can pick up their weapons and go back to fighting Xivu Arath.

Step 4: Deposit At The H.E.L.M.

Step 4: Deposit At The H.E.L.M.

After getting the Whispering Mothcarp fish, the Vex Placoderm, and the Aeonian Alpha-Betta, players will have to put away their fishing rods and go to their locations tab to enter the H.E.L.M. Players will find their Aquarium near the Sonar Station, where they can put their fish like motes in PvPvE’s Gambit.

After putting all three Exotic fish in the deposit box, players will get a random Exotic and the most important thing they need to move forward in the quest. For the Whispering Mothcarp, players will get the Broken Blade of Strife. For the Vex Placoderm, they will get the Broken Blade of Ambition, and for the Aeonian Alpha-Betta, they will get the Broken Blade of Cunning. In what’s to come, these three pieces of legendary things will be used. For the Wicked Implement Exotic Quest to continue, players must have all three Broken Blades.

Step 5: Deep Dive Hive Statue Location #1

Step 5: Deep Dive Hive Statue Location #1

Destiny 2 players will need to go to a Deep Dives exercise for the next step of the Exotic quest. You can do this by yourself, with a Fireteam, or with any three other people. It’s best to run the Deep Dive action with a skilled Fireteam that is all doing the Exotic quest, as there are more challenges to come.

After getting Ahsa’s Gift, players should drop down the hatch and then open the door to continue their descent into the Methane Sea of Titan. In the Deep Dives game, players should go right when they see a group of yellow coral, then right again and down to find the first Hive Statue.

Here, players can give the broken blade to the Hive Statue. This will make an orange flame come out of the statue. A small piece of text that says “A bladed offering, accepted…” will show up. This means that the story hasn’t happened yet. Xivu Arath will yell, “LET IT FLOW INTO THE SEA OF TITAN, UNTIL THE TIDE TURNS AT MY NAME!”

Step 6: Deep Dive Hive Statue Location #2

Step 6: Deep Dive Hive Statue Location #2

Players can move on with the task after clearing out the Twilight area of the Deep Dive and the first encounter of 1000 Meters in the Methane Sea. The next Hive statue is not in the next part, but in the same area as the Twilight mission room. Going to Ahsa’s Gift and then going left will lead players to this spot. If you go this way, you’ll see a wired floor where you can jump up and find a door that was once locked.

The second Hive Statue of the Deep Dive game is in this room. The only thing in this room is the strangely put Statue, which is the same as the first one but is in a different spot. Players can use the Broken Blade of Ambition to light the Hive Statue and will see the message “A bladed offering, accepted…” Then, Xivu Arath will shout to ensure that this step is done: “THE WHETSTONE WAITS. BRING YOUR VIOLENCE AGAINST MY STONES LIKE A WAVE.”

Step 7: Deep Dive Hive Statue Location #3

Step 7: Deep Dive Hive Statue Location #3

After giving the Blade of Ambition to the second Hive Statue, they will want to keep going with the Deep Dive action, starting at 1000 Meters in the Methane Sea and going deeper. Once the player gets to 2000 Meters, they should go left and follow the air bubbles so they don’t fall to the bottom.

Keeping to the left, players will find the last Hive figure in the Deep Dive. This statue will get them one step closer to getting a new Exotic for their collection. Here, players can offer the last Broken Blade of Cunning. They will hear Xivu Arath say, “BLADED AND SCABBARD PART WAYS! BEAR YOUR VIOLENCE ON MY ALTAR.”

Step 8: Complete The Midnight Area

Step 8: Complete The Midnight Area

Step 9: Complete The Mission In Less Than 10 Minutes

Step 9: Complete The Mission In Less Than 10 Minutes

When players go into The Drowning, they will fight The Taken. From here, players have ten minutes to clear out the area. It’s best to stay on top of the Taken that appear and shoot the Pyramid buildings to open doors. Since this is a Darkness Zone, you can’t fail at any point during this fight.

In the Tirtha Bind area, which looks a lot like a maze, players will have to kill Omen, Blade of the Black Terrace. To find and hurt the boss, players need to find the “Honed” Taken enemies and get the Deathly Sharp buff to x3. From here, they will have about a minute to hurt the boss, who moves quickly and has a lot of health for a dangerous Tormentor.

After defeating the boss, players should run around the area to find the Darkness figure, where they can Claim Power and get the Exotic Scout Rifle: Wicked Implement. This Exotic Scout Rifle is driven by both Kinetic and Stasis, which is a way of telling players they did a good job.
